1-FAMOUS PEOPLE AND THE PERSON I ADMIRE THE MOST

People can become famous for discovering something, acting, singing, dancing and many other things. Some of them become well-known during their life, the others after their death. There are many famous people all over the world and one of them is Dr.Ahmed Zewail was born and raised in Egypt on February 26,1946,he received both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Alexandria University. He earned his doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania and joined the Caltech faculty in 1976 after two years as an IBM Fellow at the University of California at Berkeley. He has a family of four childern and his wife Dema Zewail, a physician in public health .In fact Dr. Zewail is a source of pride for all Arabs and Egyptians for discovering the femto second and winning the Nobel prize for Chemistry.
2-A book I have read recently
Reading is the only source of knowledge and I want to say that a man without reading is like a river without water .Last week I read Oliver Twist which is the first novel in the English language to centre throughout on a child hero and is also notable for Dickens' portrayal of criminals and their sordid lives. An early example of the social novel, the book calls the public's attention to various social evils, including the Poor Law that states that poor people should work in workhouses, child labour and children as criminals. The moral of Oliver Twist is that bad people must be punished and good people live happily.Mr Brownlow ,Rose and Oliver symbolize right whereas the gang symbolizes evil. Really it is a very interesting novel.
3- The human brain
We have something which is more complicated than the most powerful computer in the world :the brain. The brain is the most complex organ in the human body. It produces our every thought, action, memory, feeling and experience of the world. This jelly-like mass of tissue, weighing in at around 1.4 kilograms, contains one hundred billion nerve cells, or neurons.
. Each neuron can make contact with thousands or even tens of thousands of others,. Our brains form a million new connections for every second of our lives. It controls every thing we do .It sends and receives messages to and from our senses in no time .you can store memories, recognize your favourite singer's voice and smell flowers thanks to your brain. We must all thank Allah for all these gifts.
4-A famous sportsman
Our prophet ordered us to teach our children swimming ,shooting and riding horses. So when we have a famous Egyptian sportsman like Abu-Heif we should be filled with pride and delight . Abu-Heif was one of the best Egyptian athletes. In 2001, he won a prize as the best swimmer of the 20th century. Abdel-Latif Abu-Heif was born in 1929 in the Anfoushi area of Alexandria. As a boy, he spent a lot of his time swimming in the sea. At the age of ten, he won the Egyptian primary school swimming championship. After this, he moved to Cairo and trained at Al-Ahli Club.

In 1951, Abu-Heif became internationally famous when he swam across the English Channel. In 1953, he crossed the Channel again. This time he broke the record by crossing in 13 hours and 45 minutes. When he returned to Egypt, the people welcomed him as a national hero. All of us should be proud of such a great man. As a sign of respect , we should always remember our great heroes. We can show programmes on TV to remind people of past heroes. Their names should be given to streets and other public places. There should be newspaper articles, TV serials and books that tell us about them and their achievements

5-A role Model
True role models are those who possess the qualities that we would like to have and those who have affected us in a way that makes us want to be better people. To advocate for ourselves and our goals and take leadership on the issues that we believe in
In "The Old Man And The Sea" the wrier shed the light on the effect of a role model" the old man" and the young apprentice "Manoline".Manoline's parents told him to work with a more successful fisherman as the old man was unlucky for not catching any fish for 84 days.Manoline loved and respected him
He visited the old man every evening to talk to him
Manolin saw him as a great role model. He learned never to give up and face hardships bravely

6-How to protect the environment …. ?

Our planet is in trouble! Almost every day we seem to hear of yet another problem affecting the environment - and what a list of problems! - pollution, acid rain, global warming, the destruction of rainforests and other wild habitats, the decline and extinction of thousands of species of animals and plants....and so on.

Nowadays, most of us know that these threats exist and that humans have caused them. Everybody agrees that cars and other vehicles are damaging our health and our world. Different countries have different ways of stopping this damage. In some places, for example the price of petrol is very high. In other places, people have to pay to drive on some roads or in some cities. Now a speaker is suggesting that people should only be able to use their cars for four days a week instead of seven. To protect our environment we should use electric cars.
We can use cars which burn fuel efficiently. We can plant more trees. We can move factories to places where no people live.We can use public transport instead of using private cars all the time
7-How to avoid illness
Cleanliness is extremely important in protecting us from infections. Hygiene (your own cleanliness) and sanitation (public cleanliness) are both important.
Many infections of the stomach pass from one person to another because of bad sanitation and hygiene. If a child has dirty hands, they will be covered with millions of germs which we cannot see. If that child gives sweets to another child, some of those germs will be passed to the other child. When this child eats the sweet, he or she will eat some of the germs and may become ill. The child's mother may say that it is because her child ate the sweet, but it is really because her child ate the other child's germs.
These are some of the rules of hygiene. You should always wash your hands before a meal. You should bathe more often in hot weather or when you have been running or been to the gym.
You should also be very careful about the food you eat and the water you drink. Make sure that flies and other insects do not land on your food. Insects eat dirt and there are germs in dirt. If insects land on your food, they may pass their germs on to you. You must not leave pieces of food or dirty dishes lying around, because they will attract flies. You can protect food from flies and germs by covering it. You should always boil tap water before you drink it.
Finally, you must never eat food that smells bad because it may be poisonous. Do not eat food from a tin if the tin is damaged; the food will probably be bad.
8-William Shakespeare
I f you ask me about the greatest playwright ever born ;clearly and with no mere doubt ,I say William Shakespeare. William Shakespeare was born on April 23. 1564. in Stratford in the Midlands of -England. His father was a merchant. William went school when he was 7 but he had to leave at the age of 14 because his family had financial problems.

When he was 18, Shakespeare married a farmer’s daughter called Anne Heathway. William and Anne had three children. After that no one
is sure what Shakespeare did but, in 1592, he left his family and went to London to become an actor.
Then he started writing poems, and one of his longest poems "Venus and Adonis” was so successful that it made him famous. If he hadn’t found a patron at this time he wouldn't have become a famous writer.
In 1594, Shakespeare was a well-known actor and writer who wrote and performed for a theatre group called King's Men. Shakespeare had started writing in 1588 and for the next 17 years he wrote two plays a year. Many of these were performed at the Globe Theatre near to the River Thames in London. His five famous plays are probably Romeo and Juliet written in 1596. A Midsummer Night's Dream in 1596 King Lear in 1606. Shakespeare part owned The Globe Theatre and made a lot of money enough to buy a very large House in Stratford and he retired there, Shakespeare died on April 23, 16

9-A city you visited and admired it

I've been to London in 2007 and I really enjoyed this visit too much. London is the capital and largest area of both England and the United Kingdom. London's history goes back to its founding by the Romans .London is one of the world's leading business, financial and cultural centres, and its influence in politics, education, entertainment, media, fashion and the arts contribute to its status as a major global city.
I visited historic buildings and wonderful places ,museums, theatres, beautiful shops and big parks. I liked it so much. The traffic is not as bad as it was before .You had to pay to drive through the middle of London!. I agree that buses in London can be slow, but the underground's quite fast. I like living in London. It's a really safe city. You can express your opinions freely as long as you are in London.
